puzzle solver | To whom do we market? Before PostScript can answer that question for Merchants Bank, Becky must put together the pieces of the puzzle that are the Merchants Bank database.
Becky joined PostScript in 2001. Since joining the PostScript team, Becky has assumed responsibility for the Merchants Bank database, developing their direct marketing program. The program requires her to funnel useful marketing information from a large database. She analyzes different pieces of the puzzle—age demographics and product purchasing patterns, to name a few—and finds the answers that help Merchants Bank market to the appropriate audience. She has also created and implemented a system to make sure campaigns function in a timely fashion (keep in mind that there are 36 branches).
Before joining PostScript, Becky attended Marietta College in Marietta, OH. She graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in advertising and public relations. While in college, she completed the mass media department’s first thesis. Her thesis was a seven-minute video advertising the college. She decided who the target audience was, what the script should convey, who the actors should be, what music should be played and what scenes should be included in the video. Through this experience, she learned advertising isn’t just a catchy jingle; it’s hard work and requires attention to detail.
Becky lives and works on the other side of the lake in Plattsburgh, NY (Someone has to keep those Vermonters in check). Family is her first priority, so she is thrilled to be able to work from home and spend more time with her husband, son and daughter. When she is not working, Becky is an officer of the non-profit group Moms' Club of Peru; the group serves as an outlet for stay-at-home moms. She also volunteers at her church’s Awana Club. Basically, when she is not working, she is at play dates, cooking clubs, walking clubs, reading to the kids, having fun and loving life. She truly enjoys seeing the world for the first time, again—through her kids’ eyes.
