Champlain Valley Exposition’s Annual Balloon and Music Festival (June 2004)
Kicking-off an annual tradition on a high note
An annual event, held on the grounds of Champlain Valley Exposition in Essex Junction, Vermont, the Balloon Festival is attended by tens of thousands of people each year. The festival features hot-air balloons, music, food, and family fun.
CVE needed a comprehensive public relations campaign and pre-event management strategy for media representatives. PostScript launched a massive recruitment of media with a press invite for a day of special hot-air balloon rides. The event was a unique press conference and spawned massive editorial, live radio and television footage, hyping the main Balloon Festival that weekend. Pre-arranged media interviews with CVE and Balloon Festival staff, and sponsors were conducted, photographers were invited to snap photos from air and ground—it made for a colorful and successful event!
